Abstract
The antigens common to skin and bone were observed in homografts in mice. Freezing and freeze-drying a bone homograft appears to inactivate the antigens it has in common with skin. Decalcification, deproteinization, and deproteinized frozen bone appeared to have sufficient antigens to result in acceleration of the process of rejection of a skin graft. The results were indeterminate in grafts of frozen irradiated, frozen dryed irradiated, and deproteinized autoclaved bone. The relationship between antigenicity and clinical success with bone graft materials is not known. Keywords
