Abstract
Nucleosome sliding is a frequent result of energy‐dependent nucleosome remodelling in vitro . This review discusses the possible roles for nucleosome sliding in the assembly and maintenance of dynamic chromatin and for the regulation of diverse functions in eukaryotic nuclei.Keywords
