Abstract
We present results for the low-lying energies of pure SU(2) gauge theory in a cubic volume up to a size of five inverse glueball masses, based on an analytic-variational continuum calculation. We observe as lowest mass a ) state, roughly half the mass of the almost degenerate ) and E) states. The ) state shows a pronounced volume dependence. There is fair agreement with existing finite-volume Monte Carlo results.
