Abstract
When grown in proteose-peptone medium Crithidia fasciculata becomes round after it enters the stationary phase. This change in shape can be prevented when NaCl, sucrose, mannitol, or glucose is present in the concentration range 150–200 mM. KCl had relatively weak activity in preventing the change of shape and LiCl, CsCl, and RbCl inhibited growth in the concentration range where NaCl was effective. Keywords
