Abstract
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), or compression neuropathy of the median nerve at the wrist, is a cause of pain, numbness, and tingling in the upper extremities1,2 and an increasingly recognized cause of work disability.3,4 Carpal tunnel syndrome constitutes a major part of the occupational upper-extremity disorders and is associated with considerable health care and indemnity costs.4
