Abstract
A comparison is made between the various proton models of hydrogen absorption developed by Simons and Flanagan (S), Brodowsky (B) and Ebisuzaki and O'Keeffe(E). A detailed reassessment of the different models shows that some of the assumptions involved are questionable. In addition, some comparisons between theoretical and experimental results are made. It is concluded that none of these theories can satisfactorily explain the experimental results. Keywords
