Abstract
The Weiss molecular-field treatment of the Heisenberg model of ferromagnetism has been extended by the introduction of volume-dependent exchange interactions. An interaction of this type produces a contribution to the expansion coefficient. This paper presents computed results for the temperature dependence of the specific heat (including the simple Weiss model with constant exchange), the magnetization, and the expansion coefficient. The application to antiferromagnetic Mn is discussed.
