Abstract
Luttinger's approach for a theory of the de Haas-van Alphen effect is applied to mean-field theory of the SU(N) Anderson lattice model. Using a single-channel approximation the authors obtain an expression for the fermion mass enhancement and its magnetic field dependence. The results are applied to the heavy-fermion compound CeB6 where the field dependence of the mass is compared with measurements from de Haas-van Alphen and specific heat experiments. Keywords
