Abstract
Fuchs’s epithelioma is generally considered a true tumour of the ciliary body. Electron microscopic observations and the results of histopathological investigation using polarisation microscopy after staining with Congo red and with the fluorescence microscopic technique after staining with thioflavin-S suggest that this alteration is the result of a senile localized amyloidosis.
