Abstract
A casual understanding of the rôle of the streptococcus in genito-urinary diseases among any group interested in the clinical aspects will place its importance in widely varying spheres. Wrong conclusions, in this connection, can easily be made from one's own clinical experience. Without a careful search of the available sources of information and study of both the clinical and the experimental aspects of the subject, no measure of the rôle of the streptococcus in urology can be made. With no thought of adding anything new to the subject, but for the purpose of directing attention briefly to the most important pertinent facts and probabilities, I open this subject of nonspecific infections of the urogenital tract.
