Abstract
A study of the isotope-mass-effect in self-diffusion has confirmed that the mobile point defect in crystalline naphthalene is a lattice vacancy. Subsequent examination of the effect of hydrostatic pressure on self-diffusion shows that the activation volume for vacancy self-diffusion in this solid is 1.2 Ω, where Ω is the molar volume of the solid. Keywords
