Abstract
The blood proteins are oxidized in about 40 sec. by heating with ammonium persulphate and concentrated HNO3 in the presence of excess AgNO3. The unprecipitated Ag is estimated by titration with alcoholic ammonium thiocyanate using ferric iron alum as internal indicator, and rendering the end point sharper by the addition of acetone. An estimation may be completed in 8 min. Results agree within a range of 4 to 6 mmgs. of NaCl when 0.2 cc of blood is used. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
