Abstract
It is suggested that quark fields could be regarded as transverse octonionic fields. The resulting scheme unifies the existing three-triplet quark models within an "exceptional" paraquark scheme. We give a new reason for the observability of singlet states of the exact SU(3) group of three-triplet quark models and the nonobservability of quarks and diquarks. Keywords
