Abstract
To the Editor: Maternal pulmonary edema has been reported only rarely among recently summarized adverse reactions to β-agonistic drugs for the treatment of premature labor.1 We report an additional case, associated not only with the use of the only FDA-approved tocolytic agent, ritodrine, but also with twin gestation and mild to moderate maternal preeclampsia.A 21-year-old woman presented after a single prenatal visit to the labor floor, in early labor. The date of her last menstrual period was unknown, and her fundal height was compatible with term. Her blood pressure was 120/80 torr; her pulse rate was 90 beats . . .Keywords
