Abstract
The mass spectra are given of nonanoic, 2-ethylheptanoic, 2,5-diethylhexanedioic, 2-ethyloctanedioic, and decanedioic acids with the methyl esters of these acids. Quantitative methods are described for the analysis of nonanoic and 2-ethylheptanoic acid mixtures as well as mixtures of the respective methyl esters. Data are given for the precision and accuracy of the methods. By using a diazomethane esterification procedure, the C-9 monobasic and C-10 dibasic acids were quantitatively converted to their methyl esters. Keywords
