Abstract

A new species of Gracilaria (G. epihippisora sp. nov.) is described from the island of Hawaii [USA]. It is a very polymorphic species with fertile thalli generally more robust than sterile individuals. The male gametophyte bears unique saddle-shaped spermatangial sori.
