Teaching educators to deal with death

Abstract
Although school counselors, teachers, and other members of the school staff frequently are called upon to help students with death-related concerns, most educators have had little, if any, training in the area of death and dying. This article describes a seminar on death conducted for school counselors and teachers. The goals, content, and procedures used in this seminar are described in detail. Also presented are participants' evaluations of the seminar as well as specific activities undertaken as a direct result of the course.
