Abstract
Ten cases of cancer in or about the larynx, recurrent after irradiation, in whom limited surgical procedures have been done were observed. In 7 of these patients, the initial cancer WaS in the true cord region. The results in these patients have been encouraging to date. In 2 of the other patients, the cancer was in the base of the tongue, and in 1, on the arytenoid and aryepiglottic fold. It is too soon to determine whether a limited procedure will be a satisfactory method of managing recurrences after irradiation in these areas. However, it has been demonstrated that voice and swallowing functions can be satisfactorily restored. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
