Abstract
Fields off the side of a recording head are derived and three dimensional side effects (side writing, erasing and reading) are evaluated. The closed-form equations are sufficiently general and simple to permit recording system calculations involving inter-track crosstalk guardbands, prior data crosstalk due to head-track misalignment, and adjacent track overwrite. Keywords
