Metallic Point-Contact Spectra of Valence Fluctuation Compounds

Abstract
Current-voltage characteristics of metallic point contacts with Ce and Yb valence fluctuation compounds are presented, from which are extracted the lifetime width of the conduction electrons due to dynamic scattering on valence fluctuations, the interconfigurational excitation energy, and a strong asymmetry of the conduction-electron density of states about the Fermi energy.Keywords
