Abstract
SUMMARY: Diallel crosses, without reciprocals, were made between two strains resistant to leaf curl and two susceptible strains as part of a breeding programme for leaf curl resistance. F1, F2, F3 and backcross progenies were studied. Results revealed that leaf curl resistance, previously described as polygenic, is controlled by a major dominant gene designated as Vr1. The presence of minor modifier genes was also indicated. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
