Simultaneous determination of copper and cobalt with EDTA using derivative spectrophotometry

Abstract
The application of derivative spectrophotometry to the simultaneous determination of copper(II) and cobalt(II) with EDTA is described. The procedure does not require equations to be solved, and is suitable for concentrations of 0.06–2.37 mg ml–1 of copper and 0.06–2.25 mg ml–1 of cobalt. The main interferences, both anionic and cationic, are easily eliminated.
