Abstract
The utility of iodotrimethylsilane has been extended to include the rapid and highly selective reduction of α,α-diaryl alcohols. The reduction of a series of α-hydroxyfuroic acids in near quantitative yield has been demonstrated and the mechanism discussed. Keywords
