Abstract
Application of a cross correlation technique for improving the signal-to-noise ratios and for measurements of time-of-flight (TOF) spectra of thermal energy molecular beams is described. Results of modulating a thermal argon beam are presented. A reduction of the noise level by a factor of 7 beyond signal averaging is observed. Keywords
