Abstract
Capacity and control are presented as two basic dimensions for understanding attentional problems and devising appropriate treatment strategies. A theoretical explanation of this approach is given, together with clarification of how these dimensions relate to other attentional terms and concepts found in the literature. Clinical cases are provided to illustrate the way that the dimensions of capacity and control manifest themselves during cognitive rehabilitation, and practical strategies for dealing with deficits are outlined.
