Abstract
When implemented in Snobol4, Eliza is dramatically shorter and simpler than the original Fortran program. The brevity of the rewritten Eliza greatly enhances its value in a course on artificial intelligence. The complete program, and a portion of a script are included as Appendices. Keywords
