Abstract
We report a patient suffering from necrotizing fasclitis. The principal pathogen was Streptococcus pneumoniae. As far as we are aware, this is the first reported case of necrotizing fasciitis (NF) attributable to this organism. We discuss the pathogenesis of NF, and review the literature relating to this disorder. Keywords
