Abstract
An examination of Hull''s macromolar approach to learned behavior indicates that it is inadequate to certain bodies of data. A micromolar approach is described, in which quantitatively different behaviors are viewed as different responses, rather than as different strengths of the same response. The model is applied to a simple instrumental response with rats, and it is concluded that the micromolar approach is a potentially useful one, and deserves consideration alongside other theories of learned behavior. Keywords
