Abstract
Using the air-drying method for chromosome preparations from mammalian testes, the frequency of chromosome rearrangements induced by irradiation of spermatogonial stages were studied in 5 strains of mice, 60 days after 400 R, by observation of spermatocytes at diakinesis or 1st metaphase. The cells were classified according to the type of chromosomes rearrangements observed and to the number of chromosomes involved in these associations. The reciprocal translocation involving 4 chromosomes was the most frequent type seen. No statistical difference was found between the strains in regard to the nature and frequency of the rearrangements. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
