Abstract
Present knowledge of the occurrence of characteristic echinoids in the Tertiary of Western Australia is summarised. The generic diagnosis for Cyamidia Lambert and Thiéry (Fibulariidae Duncan) is amended to include the fact that the genus does not possess internal partitions. A new species, C. paucipora, is described. A new genus, Lenicyamidia, is diagnosed on the basis of L. compta gen. et sp.nov., a form which combines some features that are elsewhere found separately on Lenita and Cyamidia. These members of the Fibulariidae form a strong element in the littoral fauna contained in the Merlinleigh Sandstone (Late Cuisian or Lutetian) of the Carnarvon Basin sequence in Western Australia. Keywords
