A pair of schistosome worms were found in an orbital vein in a case of conjunctival schistosomiasis. The palpebral conjunctiva of the inner canthus of the left upper eyelid and the caruncle were involved and appeared histologically as an inflammatory granuloma with many ova of Schistosoma haematobium in varying states of degeneration. The conjunctiva was tra-chomatous. Direct entrance of the cercariae into the conjunctiva following contact with contaminated water is postulated. The richly vascularized trachomatous conjunctiva favored the development of the cerceriae to maturity.
