Ice blisters up to 3 m high and tens of meters long were observed on rivers and glaciers as well as on a subsurface glacial pool. Ice blisters observed by other investigators are also discussed, as is ice blister morphology (solid, hollow or water-filled), the processes associated with their formation and their potential as a resource for potable water.
