Abstract
A 37-year-old man with apparent familial polycystic renal disease reached a terminal phase of uremia in 1964. Renal transplantation was carried out from the patient's mother in July of the same year. The recipient enjoys good renal function more than three years following transplantation. This patient's polycystic kidneys were left in at the time of transplantation and have since been observed to be shrinking in size. The patient also has an erythremia (polycythemia vera) following transplantation, which persists more than three years postoperatively. Keywords
