Abstract
The crystal and molecular structure of Ph2Si(NMeBMe)2NMe (1) and MeB(NMeSiPh2 )2NMe (2) have been determined by X-ray structure analyses. Both compounds possess almost planar heterocycles. The average BN bond lengths in both compounds are practically identical (1.44 Å), but the two nonequivalent SiN bonds in 2 are significantly different (1.719, 1.732 Å). NMR data ( 1H, 11B, 13C, 27Si) are consistent with planar silaborazine rings.
