Abstract
The rate of distillation of helium between two liquid surfaces at different temperatures has been measured and found to be in approximate agreement with simple kinetic theory. The influence of evaporation on the thermal effects accompanying film flow is discussed. It seems unlikely that the decrease in the rate of film flow at small level differences can be explained in terms of these thermal effects. Keywords
