Abstract
It is shown that the anomalous low-temperature specific heat of amorphous materials may arise from strain interactions between two-level tunneling states. The calculation relates the specific heat to the elastic constants of the glass. The result suggests a reason for widely different glasses having very similar low-temperature properties. Keywords
