Notes on Diet and Reproduction of the Sand Goanna, Varanus gouldii rosenbergi

Abstract
Diet and seasonal changes in reproductive activity of sand goannas on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, are described. Food consisted of a wide range of invertebrates, reptiles and mammals. Breeding, which occurred during the summer, may be slightly later there than in central Australia. Mean clutch size of enlarged ovarian and oviducal eggs was 14.0. The sex ratio of goannas which were collected was strongly biased in favor of males (37:8).
