Abstract
Cardiovascular PerformanceIn 1971, the technique of gated cardiac blood-pool imaging was developed. In this approach, the electrocardiogram is introduced into the imaging process to control the temporal sequence of imaging of the entire equilibrium blood pool.97 , 98 This technique was initially proposed as a means of evaluating both regional wall motion and global left ventricular function. In the following year, first-pass radionuclide angiocardiography was described.99 In this approach, only the first transit of the radionuclide bolus through the central circulation is analyzed. Since their introduction, these two radionuclide techniques have progressed from the investigational stage to one of widespread clinical . . .Keywords
