Zn(He3,d)reactions at 18 MeV

Abstract
Differential cross sections and spectroscopic strengths have been measured for the (He3,d) reaction on targets of Zn64,66,68,70 at a He3 energy of 18 MeV. For the three lighter isotopes general agreement is found with the results of the (d,n) experiment of Couch et al. Results for the reaction Zn70(He3,d)Ga71 suggest a significant break in the structure of the Ga isotopes at N=40. It is suggested that this may be due to the np interaction between nucleons in the same subshell.
