Abstract
The products of light-particle radiolysis of air-free aqueous solutions of sodium formate are sodium oxalate, hydrogen, sodium glyoxalate, and formaldehyde. A kinetic scheme has been postulated from which the yield of each reaction can be calculated from the measured yields of sodium oxalate, hydrogen, and excess alkali. The suggestion of Garrison that the equilibrium [image] exists is borne out by our data.
