Abstract
An experiment on magnetically insulated ion diodes using a surface flashover anode is presented. The ion current density increased upon increasing the anode surface of the flashover source, and varied with the applied magnetic field. Enhancement of the ion current density by a factor of 3–4 occurs for an applied magnetic field of B app/B crit≃1.5.Keywords
