Abstract
Eight of ten patients dying of cancer were found to continue their responee to a hypnotic command to touch the thumb and fourth finger of one hand, even though they revealed no other evidence of interaction with the environment and were considered clinically unconscious by their attending physicians. Certain theoretical considerations are mentioned.Keywords
