Abstract
A method has been devised by which the photographic densities of molecular spectra may be interpreted in terms of excitation conditions in the source, as a preliminary to the more accurate, though tedious, heterochromatic photometric calibration. Though developed primarily for laboratory use, the method would find application in the interpretation of auroral spectra. Keywords
