Evaluation of a new photographic method for assessing pupil diameters

Abstract
To assess opiate effects, photographic methods have been utilized for an objective, precise measure of pupil size.1, 2 These methods require elaborate, stationary mechanisms for proper focusing, Recently, a Polaroid close‐up camera has been modified to allow its use for photographing pupils of bed‐confined patients.4 The present communication deals with the reliability of this method when used to assess changes in pupil size during the precipitated morphine‐abstinence syndrome.
