Abstract
This paper summarizes the results of exact calculations of the propagation constants in longitudinally-magnetized gyromagnetic rods. Specifically described are: (a) the mode behavior for a lossless rod in cylindrical waveguide as a function of rod diameter in the low-field region, (b) a comparison of the calculations with experimental results obtained with a magnetized ferrite rod in rectangular waveguide showing probable negative circular polarization of the field when concentrated within the rod, (c) a brief summary of the calculations of the propagation in rods at high dc fields, and (d) a new broadband microwave absorption switch having constant electrical characteristics over a bandwidth of 3000 Mc at X band. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
