Abstract
If the cosmic ray data on penetrating showers with large transferred energies producted by high energy muons are accepted, the muon would have anomalous interactions other than the electromagnetic one. The hypothesis of a new neutral (vector) boson χ with a mass of ∼ 10 mN is convenient to explain the penetrating showers and is not inconsistent with the muon-pair and muon-bundle production by energetic cosmic rays muons. The possible existence of a quadratic strong interaction of the intermediate weak boson W is also discussed in connection with these phenomena. Keywords
