Pediatric Cancer Patients in Reverse Isolation Utilizing Protected Environments

Abstract
A type of “laminar air flow” room used in minimizing infections in children with certain types of cancer is described. A current study of the effects of this room, including psychosocial components, is outlined. The activities of the psychosocial team are specified, along with an anecdotal account of the psychological effects of reverse isolation in the special room on the child.
