Abstract
A simple apparatus consisting of the “dual action” goniometer and “platform” for measuring digital deviations (and flexion) has been described. Using this equipment, accurate measurements of the “neutral”, active, and passive angles of deviation were obtained in eighty normal hands of volunteers. No difference in the angles of deviations in the right or left hands was found. Apart from active radial deviations in which the ranges for females were significantly higher, no differences in the “neutral”, active, and passive ulnar deviations between the sexes, were found. Age had no influence on digital deviations between the age groups studied. Keywords
