Abstract
In a study of 11 [human] pregnancy sera [examined for HLA-A or B and DRW antibodies], 4 retroplacental sera contained antibodies directed against the current pregnancy. In 2 cases, cord sera were also positive. The 1st serum contained antibodies apparently directed against the mother but not the father, thus suggesting an immune response of the fetus. The 2nd was also positive despite the fact that it was a primigravida.
