Abstract
The Li*(22Pj) fine-structure transitions induced by collisions with noble-gas atoms are treated as resonant processes. Estimation of rate coefficients kj=3/2 -> j'=1/2 for Li*-He, Ar, Kr, Xe, based on Baylis' (1969) semiempirical potentials, are in good agreement with kexpt measured recently by Elward-Berry and Berry (1980). For Li*-Ne where Baylis' potentials are incorrect, the value kexpt is used to correct them. Keywords
